Hallo Jan,

dankeschön, ich dachte mir, das die Dokumentation vielleicht anderen Trac Fahrern helfen kann, die eventuell ähnliche Probleme haben, so einen Einblick in das Thema Getriebe zu bekommen.
Möchte jedoch dazu sagen, dass die ganze Sache eine Menge Nerven, Zeit und Geld gekostet hat, da man meist nicht auf die Erfahrungswerte zurückgreifen kann, die die Leute haben, die das "jeden Tag" machen.
Danke auch nochmal an alle, die mir geholfen haben.

Hallo zusammen,

nun hat das Thema Getriebe für mich endlich ein Ende, denn es sitzt jetzt wieder im Trac und arbeitet einwandfrei.
Das eingelaufene Schubkugelgehäuse wurde noch durch ein neues ersetzt, welches jetzt wieder mit Vorspannung eingebaut werden konnte, sodass das Schubrohr spielfrei aufgenommen ist.
Alle Gänge lassen sich leicht und ohne knarren schalten, egal ob rauf oder runter. Die Getriebegeräusche sind weniger geworden, aber trotzdem nicht ganz verschwunden, was nun aber auf die Geradverzahnung zurückzuführen ist. Auch ist mir aufgefallen, das das Getriebe von Zeit zu Zeit leiser wird, da sich die Zahnräder erstmal etwas einspielen müssen.
Anbei noch ein paar Bilder.

Ich gehe mal stark davon aus das du hier in der Gegend einer der technisch generalüberholtesten Tracs überhaubt hast. Dein Fachwissen ist einfach grandios und du hast alles perfekt in die Tat umgesetzt. Ich ziehe meinen Hut vor dir.

Dein Trac ist wirklich technisch Neuware und wenn du ihm demnächst noch ne optische Schönheitskur gönnst, steht er Carsten ex-1800er in nichts mehr nach.

Hast echt super Arbeit geleistet!!!!!!!!!

Can I ask you how much € it costs to ovehaul the gearbox on your 700`er

I'm thinking of doing it on my 1000`er.

Hi Haavard,

the costs were about 4000 Euro, including new bearings, seals, synchronizers, used gearshafts, gears and the repair of my gearbox case but without work (assembly, diassembly), because I´ve done it by myself.
The costs for the clutch kit and flywheel have to be added to the above sum...
Is there any fault on your gearbox? It may be the best to take off the covers and have a look into it, then it´s easier to decide if an overhaul is needed.
Maybe you can take some photos and upload them?

Hey Christoph.

Thank you for replying on my question.

The synchronizers on the split gear is worn, so that it jumps out of gear in the H-position.

I'll try to call my Unimog dealer today to get the price on the parts that i need to overhaul the gearbox. I will also upload some pictures later today.

Hallo.

I talked to my Unimog dealer today and got the prices on some of the parts.

Picture nr.1- I think it`s called a "Shift sleeve", 3264 NOK~426€

Picture nr.2,3,4,5- Synchronizers, 2780 NOK~363€ Pro Stück

+25% MwSt.

I got a 15% discount on these parts.

Edit: Prices were not right. I've corrected them now.

Hi Haavard,

the parts seem to be a bit more expensive in Norway then in Germany.
I think the synchronizers are about 180,-Euro and the shift sleeve costs 250,-Euro here in Germany?!
Perhaps you even make a trip to Germany to make some holiday and buy some spare parts
By the way, don´t forget to change the bearings...

I knew there was some price difference on the parts, but I didn`t think it was that much.

I forgot to ask, did you change all the bearings in your transmission?

I have bought Workshop Manuals from Buch & Bild so now I can start working on the gearbox.

Hello Haavard,

I changed all bearings, there are lots of cylinder roller and needle bearings.
When you have your transmission apart, change them all because it´s too much work to do it a year later when they may be worn...
